Just a few days ago while I was driving, a Lamborghini drove past me. Carrying a SJU car plate and with a perfect white paint, it’s definitely an envy.
“Congratulations! You have made it!”
That is what I said out loud to myself in my car with 100% honesty. Why do I do that? In fact, I am preparing myself to be as successful as the Lamborghini driver. Let me explain myself.
There are many success stories happening around us every day. It can be a colleague’s promotion, clinching a mega deal, buying a brand new car, strike lottery and so on. How do most people react to others’ successes?
“Aiya, they are just lucky!”
“It’s so unfair! I’m more senior and yet he got the promotion!”
“Just wait and see how he fails!”
Familiar isn’t it? Have you observed that these people who are envious or harbour negative feelings do not achieve much success eventually?
To be successful, never set yourself against success! Get it? By saying those negative words, you are associating negative feelings with success. Therefore without you even knowing, you are denying your own success! In your subconscious mind, you will not want to be successful as you know that your success will be criticised by others as you did to others before. They behave this way as we human being are social animals and instinctively want to be socially accepted.
It is simply self sabotaging yourself! You can definitely be socially accepted and be successful!
If you congratulate them with sincerity, you prepare your subconscious mind to accept success. You will associate success with celebrations, parties, fulfilments and richness. The more you cheer for others’ successes, the more you want to be like them and be associated with them. These positive feelings will create huge desire to be successful! Before you know it, success will come to you.
If you are a senior in your company but your junior got promoted, don’t be negative. There must be something that your junior is doing and you are not. He must have made sacrifices that you never see. Cheer for him and find out how he does it and do better than him next time.
Most importantly, never quit. If you want to win the race, you got to be in the race.
There are 2 groups of people, the Winners and the Whiners. Everything is about making choices, you can choose to cheer or jeer and it is entirely up to you. You decide how you want to live your life.
I am definitely cheering! And I am ready to accept success!
